Mantel clock became especially popular in France during the reign of Louis XIV.

In those days clockmakers had a privileged position and created magnificent and very expensive clocks with cases, which were created as a work of art than served their original purpose.

While the functioning of the movements and mechanisms becomes closer and closer to absolute perfection thanks to modern technologies, the traditional artistic qualities are applied in the decoration of their cases.

Our mantel clocks are fitted with mechanical and precision quartz movements from Germany. Solid brass cases are hand finished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
