Also known as The Large Planetary Clock. The time and the movement of six planets — all in one superb timepiece.
Named after Charles, Fourth Earl of Orrery, in 1716, the clock has in fact two movements. The timepiece shows time on horizontal revolving dials and is linked to the upper Planetary train — the Orrery movement.
We show 6 planets, which are geared to rotate exactly as in nature:
- The Earth — 365 days
- Mercury — 87 days
- Venus — 229 days
- Mars — 689 days
- Jupiter — 4339 days
- Saturn — 9½ years
Both movements are wound once a week by a single key incorporated in the base. Base: mahogany. A suitable glass dome is available as an optional extra.
